Dr. Zeynep Biringen, Child Psychologist

A renowned parent-child researcher and creator of the Emotional Availability Scales, Dr. Zeynep Biringen has spent over 20 years looking at parent-child relationships. Graduating with a master's from Stanford University as well as a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from University of California at Berkeley and Child Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Zeynep completed a child clinical internship at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine.

Now a professor at Colorado State University, she has had a successful career in research and practice, working as a clinical psychologist and conducting international workshops on emotional availability. She is currently launching the emotional availability and mindfulness workshop, Love Now, Success Later.

Abigail Derr-Moore, Workshop Facilitator

Abby Derr-Moore is currently pursuing her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy at Colorado State University. With a particular interest in couples, at-risk youth, and trauma victims, Abby works at the Center for Family and Couple Therapy as a therapist-intern working with these populations. She also works for an at-risk youth program (Campus Corps), as a workshop instructor, mentor, and researcher looking at the effectiveness of this program. With research and workshop experience and interest in these areas, Abby is a facilitatator in the Love Now, Success Later workshop, interested in the dynamics of the couple relationship.

Lia Closson, Workshop Facilitator

Lia Closson has been supporting families as a postpartum doula, parent educator in Emotional Attachment and Emotional Availability, state co-coordinator for Postpartum Support International, and group facilitator for breastfeeding support groups and new mothers' support groups since 2005. She received her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, and is now pursuing her master's in Family and Developmental Studies with a focus on couples' transition into parenthood and perinatal mood disorders. Lia is a primary facilitator in the Love Now, Success Later workshops.

Amanda Hall, Graduate Research Assistant

Amanda Hall is a second year MPH Physical Activity and Healthy Lifestyles student at the Colorado School of Public Health. She is no stranger to the Women's Clinic of Northern Colorado, having completed her Practicum and Capstone there in 2014. She is interested in maternal health and exercise during and after pregnancy. She joins the team with a background in business, programming, and volunteer coordination.

Kylie Pybus, Graduate Research Assistant

Kylie Pybus is a first year MPH Global Health and Health Disparities student at the Colorado School of Public Health. She is interested in engaging youth in creating healthier environments with 7+ years of experience working with, teaching, and caring for young children and high school and undergraduate students. Kylie also has knowledge and experience in biological and social science research including transcribing, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and cell and molecular research. She is very excited to join Love Now, Success Later and learn more about Mindfulness and Emotional Attachment.

Deborah Pratt, Workshop Facilitator

After receiving her master's degree in Clinical Psychology in 2005, Deborah Pratt worked as a therapist with children and families in a variety of settings. She is licensed as a Professional Counselor in Colorado, and she is currently in her third year of the Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program at Colorado State. Her interests include child psychology and assessment, the biological correlates of behavior, and the relationships between attachment, complex trauma, and disruptive behaviors. Debbie, her husband, and her step-son recently welcomed a little boy to the family, and the experience has deepened her interest in parenting and early attachment.
